Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in at least 200 places across Western Europe, including Germany, and hundreds more are missing, reported. Several relief teams are conducting operations to find the missing persons.
The floods also hit Belgium and the Netherlands, killing at least 150 people in Germany alone.
The flood victims have been unable to return to their homes and authorities have been unable to restore electricity and water facilities.
The Mas River in the Netherlands has overflowed due to flooding caused by heavy rains, which is reported to have occurred about a century later. More than 10,000 people living in the area have been evacuated due to the overflowing of the Mas River.
