Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt of the ruling Conservative Party have qualified for the final election of Britain’s next prime minister.
Britain’s next prime minister is due to be elected by the end of next month.
The two finalists of the ruling Conservative Party leadership battle in Britain were recently elected.
Former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and current Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt have qualified for the final phase of the leadership battle.
Accordingly, the leader of the party will be elected to the next post of Prime Minister in the UK.
A series of internal elections were held for the party leadership.
Johnson, Hunt and Michael Gove came forward for the fifth phase of the election, where Boris Johnson won with an easy margin of 160 votes.
Hunt finished second with 77 seats.
“It is an honor to have the support of more than half the party’s MPs,” Johnson said.
Eight years ago, Boris Johnson, who became the Conservative Party’s most prominent figure, becoming mayor of London, spearheaded the Brexit ideology of Britain’s departure from the European Union.
Boris Johnson said recently that Britain has the ability to leave the EU on the 31st of October as proposed.
Johnson and Hunt are preparing for the next vote, with a vote of one million sixty thousand Conservative Party members.
The results will be released at the end of July and the winning candidate will be the leader of the Conservative Party and Britain’s next prime minister.
