Beginning from the Namunukula Mountains, a beautiful stream, known as the “Kaluwalu”, has formed a tributary of the Bandulu Oya.
Nicknamed the Black Pool, it is a popular tourist attraction.
Though many local tourists know this place, foreign tourists avoid it.
This place is situated at the foot of the Namunukula Mountains about half a kilometer along the tea plantation road, about 10 km from Badulla town.
Situated in a sink, this place is a favorite among many people to bathe in.
Residents in the area point out that the water in the river is more dangerous during the rainy season than during the drought.
