The volcano ‘Etna’ in Italy was reactivated yesterday (18). According to foreign media reports, smoke has been emitting from time to time since last week.
Mount Etna is located on the east coast of Italy. The smoke from it spreads over a large area. Therefore, the authorities had taken steps to temporarily close the nearby Catania Airport.
The 3,350-meter-high Etna volcano erupts several times a year. In 1992, a massive volcanic eruption was reported.
It is also considered to be the most active volcano in Europe.
