The Indian government has decided to launch a special inquiry into the unusual rise in Covid infections in five states.
India, which has the second highest number of Covid infections in the world, has seen a significant decline in the number of cases recently.
However, there is an increase in the number of infected people in five densely populated states, including Maharashtra.
Indian scientists believe that the Covid variety found in India has led to an unusual increase in infections.
On the recommendation of the Minister of Health, a special inquiry has been launched to collect virus samples from infected people in the states of Maharashtra and Kerala.
Under this, the health sector expects to conduct genetic tests and get an idea of the condition.
Meanwhile, the Astra Seneca Covid vaccine, manufactured by Serum India, has been distributed to African countries.
This is in line with the World Health Organization’s Covax program.
Under the program, 400 million doses of the vaccine will be delivered to Africa.
