Germany’s Daimler, which is considered the world’s largest automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturer, has opened its own Mercedes-Benz Dealer Company in Russia.
The Mercedes-Benz Factory is situated in the northwest of Moscow.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also participated in the opening ceremony.
The Western countries have imposed economic sanctions, with a major impact on the economy of Russia, and the motor industry has also been affected.
That is why, a few years later, a foreign automobile manufacturer has made a huge investment in Russia, experts said.
“We hope to produce 25,000 cars from this factory for the first time and invest USD 291 million”, Putin said at the inauguration ceremony.
It was constructed in the early part of 2017 under a contract signed with Damler Company, he added.
In the early 2000s, global auto makers were more inclined towards Russia, but in 2016, motor-car sales fell.
However, since the end of last year, it has been re-emerging, reports add.
