Ethiopian Prime Minister Abhi Ahmed has won a record victory in the general election.
It won 410 of the 436 seats in parliament.
Accordingly, he will rule Ethiopia for the next five years as well.
Ethiopia’s elections have been held in the wake of the Tigris conflict, which has left more than half a million people starving.
One-fifth of the country’s population was unable to vote due to insecurity and supply problems.
Following the victory, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Abhi Ahmed said in a Twitter message that the election results were historic.
He added that the new government would be formed in October.
