An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale rocked Japan.
It was later reported that a tsunami also struck after the earthquake. The tsunami caused no casualties. Thirteen people were injured in the quake.
A number of houses and buildings were damaged. The earthquake occurred on the sea floor just north of Tokyo’s capital.
