An Oxford University student has raised 350,000 sterling (£ 827 lakh) to support health services in Sri Lanka in support of her brother and sister who died in the terrorist attack in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
Commenting on this, a student named David Lynsey said that the hospital was filled with patients who were brought to the Colombo National Hospital due to the Passover attack.
“Maybe the hospital had better things to do,” says 22-year-old Weyward.
David is currently pursuing an economics degree and is focusing on social welfare.
David’s brother, Daniel, 19, and sister, 15-year-old Amelie, were killed in a suicide attack on Easter Sunday in Shangri-La.
He founded the Amelie and Daniel Lynsey Foundation in the United Kingdom on behalf of his brother and sister, and is partnered with Sri Lankan national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines.
He has visited Sri Lanka on two occasions since the Easter Sunday attacks.
On his previous visit to Sri Lanka, he donated 100 beds of trolleys to nine hospitals.
