Beautiful in Nuwara Eliya
6128 feet from the sea level is thought to have been discovered by the ‘Samueller Baker’ in the 19th century. According to Rama Ravana, Hanuma has been burnt down by Nuwara Eliya. According to folklore, the Nuwara Eliya was formed due to the light from the fire, due to the word ‘Kandy’ + ‘Light’.
There are many tourist places in the Nuwara Eliya and its surrounding areas. I will briefly outline the findings of some of those places.
From Colombo to Nuwara Eliya there are 2 main roads.
Through Gampola
If this road, which is about 170 km long, travels through Kelaniya, Kelaniya, Kiribathgoda, Yakkala, Nittambuwa, Nelumdeniya, Kegalle and Kadugannawa to reach Peradeniya. From there, the Nuwara Eliya is 68 km away. From Peradeniya to A5 road you should come to Gampola via Gelioya, Weligalla and Kahapitiya. Now you are at a distance of 53 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya. Then you can reach Atabah, Delpitiya, Pussellawa, Kotmale, Ramboda and reach Nuwara Eliya.
Hatton
If this road, which is about 160 km away, travels through the A4 roads, passing through Colombo, Homagama, Kaluaggala, Kosgama, Puwakpitiya and travel to Avissawella. From there on the A7 route, through Thalduwa, Dehiowita, Yatiyantota, Kitulgala, Kalugala, Ginigathhena, Watawala and Hatton via Hatton to Thalawakele, Lindula and Nanu Oya can reach Nuwara Eliya along Kaduwela and then to Awissawella. One important thing is that the road from Hatton to Nuwara Eliya is very ruinous and difficult.
If you are traveling by train, you should come down from Nanu Oya Station and travel about 4 km away. There will be no trains up to Nuwara Eliya after 1948. Today there is a bus stand at the NuwaraEliya Railway Station.
If you need to come back to Nuwara Eliya via Gampola, you can come there via Hatton. I chose that path.
Ramboda Falls
Pussellawa, Kotmale passes through a beautiful environment and you come across the Ramboda Tunnel. A short distance away is Ramboda Falls.
Highest city in Sri Lanka (Shanthipura)
You have recently visited the Bambarakelle village in Nuwara Eliya about 1KM. On the right hand, the right road to Santhipura begins. After passing Bambarakele Village, we can reach St. 2½ and 2 km. The highest elevation of 7430 feet is considered to be the highest city in Sri Lanka. A Nuwara Eliya viewing stall has been built in the area called “Kalapura” at Shanthipura. If you need it, you can see the city of Nuwara Eliya visible in the warm tea or some cup of coffee. From there you see a very fascinating view.
Other attractions around Nuwaraeliya are the Gregory Oya, the Golf Course and the Victoria Park.
Gregory Oya
Gregory’s Nutritional Feeding Nunu Oya was spreading in a larger area at that time. Gregory the Governor (1872-1877) built a section of the track and reclaimed its part for the rest. Gregory is one of the most recent waterfront services launched by the government.
If you like the beauty of the Gregory Lake, you should not forget to go for a boat ride. For a boat, a boat of 800 can be charged per trip.
Victoria Park
Founded in 1888 by William Cox, this is an 24-acre park. It is located in the middle of Nuwara Eliya town.
Golf Course
The moment the Premier said, he recalls the tomb of William Roger. There is a huge elephant population in Nuwara Eliya during the British colonial period. At that time, the British rulers considered elephant killing as a venue and a manifestation of their strength. Major William Roger is a large-scale elephant killer. Even today, his grave is said to light up every year.
Above is the location you can see on the first day of your visit to Nuwara Eliya. Then I go to the place where I am going to move and propose that the Traveler be exited. There are so many shelters around Nuwara Eliya. If you are not going during April or December holidays, finding a place is not difficult.
Haggala Botanical Garden
This is a place where visitors to Nuwara Eliya are definitely visiting. Haggala Botanic Gardens is about 10km from Nuwara Eliya along the Nuwara Eliya – Badulla Road. The Haggala Botanic Gardens which was established in 1861 for cinchona cultivation spreads over 68 acres.
It was second only to the 300 acre that was still being constructed by the Mirijjawila Botanical Garden and the first botanical garden in Sri Lanka, the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens which was opened in 1747. The 62 acre garden in Avissawella and the 30 acre park in Gampaha are smaller than the Haggala Gardens.
There were some hearts in the park. Garbage and polythene have been clearly stated clearly, but some have neglected the use of yoghurt cups, polythene and mutton. That is probably the case of local tourists. Destructuring the environment with the beauty of the environment I see it as if it were trying to cut off a branch.
Seetha temple
From Nuwara Eliya to Haggala, it is a small temple in Sita Eliya. SeatAlla, which flows behind the kovil, adds a strange beauty. A very valuable story story is connected with the temple. BC. 2554 BCE You will have heard of King Ravana Rakuna, who ruled Sri Lanka in 2517. Ravana had been abducted and seized by Princess Rama of Princess Sita, who was hiding in the Seetha Eliya area.
Samuel Baker, who is considered to have been found in Nuwara Eliya, recalled the first part of the article. He arrived in Sri Lanka in 1848 and imported laborers from India and started cultivating Nuwara Eliya. It is said that this Seetha Kovil is said to have been built by the Indian estate workers. At this time, worshiping Sita, Rama, Lakshman, Hanuman etc. are performed according to the sacred service. It is a ridiculous answer when the answer was when the cotton man was asked to explain the temple’s history.
“Kovil nahiya .. Jeeva temple”. That was the only thing to know about the temple of Kaphumatha.
From the Nuwara-Eliya to Ambewela road, the village of Randapola is about 18 km away. The peak Kande Ela of 6350 feet above the village is considered to be one of the tanks in Sri Lanka. The Kande Ella Forest Reserve is simultaneously located.
Ambewela dairy farm
After reaching 15 to 18 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya, we reach Ambewela. There are two largest dairy farms in Sri Lanka. These are New Zealand and Ambewela farms.
The New Zealand farm should be selected here. Ambewela will not be open to the farmers.
The Ambewela farm surrounds the environment very nicely. This area is used for many teledramas and film films. Animals like animals, animals, animals, animals, and animals. The Pattiflors are not seen frequently. It was found that the Dutch-born Friesian family had an average weight of 750-900 kilograms. Watching Ambewela Farm Do not forget to taste the fresh milk of Sweet Milk.
Horton Place (Greenshot)
The Great Nurse has been named after 1969 as a Natural Reserve. From Ambewela we can reach Kandy cattle through Pattipola. The first big dry out door is 11 kilometers away from Pattipola. From there you can go to Bakersfield Beach and go to the world of excitement. That distance is about nine kilometers. The bottom of the fault is the Balangoda Valley. If you’re on a cloudy day, you can see the Balangoda Valley.
Adizes bunglow
Adizes bungalow is another place to visit during your tour. You can reach this place by turning to Haputalala on the Badulla road. One important thing to remember is that this permission is only permitted on Saturdays, Sundays, Poya and school holidays. This was built in 1931. Thomas Wills, 17, who fled to Sri Lanka in 1987, was a porter in tea cultivation. Rs. 500,000 from Irish raw materials and engineers from India. This is built at an expense of loupe. It was made up of roofed woods and was equipped with hot water, heater, electricity. From 1960 onwards, the so-called St. Benedict Abbey, this is today a Christian training center.
I chose Hatton to come back from Nuwara Eliya. The road to Hatton through Nanu Oya is very difficult. In the Talawakelle area you can visit the Tea Research Institute (TRI). If you can contact a known officer, you will be able to do it. For us it was lucky. There you will find out about Tea Tare in Sri Lanka, where you can find tea, cough diseases, tea and tea production.
Tea Research Institute visits the A7 route and returns you to two beautiful waterfalls. First come across Saint Cleansen Falls. Soon, Devon Falls is visible.
In addition, if you want, you can visit the Kotmale cheese factory in Kotmale. You need to contact an officer working there.
I also say something about the roof of the police fire on the middle of the road. The rain on the left side will add to the Mahaweli river to the longest river in Sri Lanka. The rainwater falling to the right is added to the Kelani river, another main stream. It’s a very beautiful place.
Ultimately, it is your duty to travel to this beautiful city of Nuwara Eliya. I see Nuwara Eliya as a beautiful but somewhat bitter and harsh city. There are few parking facilities available, while a stopover of Rs. 50 / – is allowed to stop when the Katanaka is stopped. Everything is priced for everything and you have to buy separate tickets for yourself and your vehicle wherever you can. I think the authorities in charge of improving the city should be more interested.
