Melbourne, the second largest city in Australia, is located in the state of Victoria. Authorities have decided to close the area abruptly due to encounters withCovid infected.
Two more infected people have been found in the area today (15) and so far 18 cases of Covid have been reported from the state.
This is the fifth time the state has been locked down since the outbreak of the Kovid-19 epidemic. It will be in effect until next Tuesday.
About 40% of Australia’s population is currently homeless due to travel restrictions.
There are 6.6 million people in the state of Victoria who can only move out of their homes to buy essential items, get essential jobs, exercise or get vaccinated.
Covid infections have been reported in neighboring New South Wales, but not in Victoria.
But earlier this week, a group of furniture transporters traveled from Sydney to Melbourne, where the virus is believed to have been transmitted to Melbourne.
The state of New South Wales is currently closed until the end of July.
About 1,000 cases of Covid have been reported in New South Wales so far, most of them from the deadly Delta strain.
