Health officials say about 4,300 people in India have died from the black fungus.
They warn that it will become an epidemic.
According to Health Minister Mansuk Mandavia, 45,374 cases of the fungus have been reported in India so far.
Doctors say that the disease, called myocomycosis, is rare and dangerous.
The fungus has been found to cause infections in the nose, eyes and possibly the brain.
The majority of patients diagnosed with black fungus are reported to be recovering from Covid infections.
This fungal infection is diagnosed 10-12 days after the onset of Covid disease.
