Former US Olympic women’s coach John Gardner has committed suicide after being accused of sexual abuse and human trafficking.
Foreign media reports that he had committed suicide a few hours after the allegations were made.
John Gardert, the head coach of the American Women’s Gymnastics Team in 2012, is said to have worked closely with Larry Nasser, the team’s doctor, who has been accused of abusing hundreds of athletes.
The doctor, who was convicted of abusing more than 250 athletes, was sentenced in 2018 to 300 years in prison.
