Latha Mangeshkar, popularly known as ‘Geetha Kokila’ of India, was laid to rest at the Sivaji Park in Mumbai on Monday (6) amidst full state honors. She was 92 years old at the time of her death, having been hospitalized for more than a month after being infected with the Covid virus.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a large number of government ministers, opposition politicians and artists attended the funeral of Lata Mangeshkar, India’s national heroine.
