The Algerian presidential election is due soon.
It is said that the Algerians have launched a protest action on several demands.
The presidential election in Algeria is scheduled for December 12 this year.
Mass protests have begun all over the country, with protesters demanding that the military withdraw from politics, eliminate corruption, change regime and release opposition leaders.
Thousands of people have reportedly participated in the protests.
The military plays a key role in the Algerian political arena.
This year’s presidential election is unique as it is the only way to silence the protesters and come up with a constitutional solution to the uncertainty that arose following the abdication of President Abdelaziz Butafiieca in April.
Protesters, however, say the army should stay away from politics.
Algeria’s presidential election was to be held last July.
President Abdelaziz Butafiieca announced in February that he would run for president for the fifth consecutive year in Algeria.
He resigned from the post on April 2 amid mass protests and a presidential election was set for December.
