Former captain Kumar Sangakkara has been named the next Chairman of the Marlborough Cricket Club in England.
This is the first time a person who is not a British national will be appointed as the Chairman of this club.
The Marvelous Cricket Club, the Lord’s cricket stadium, which is considered to be the coveted ground of the cricket world, is also considered the founder of cricket tradition not only for cricketers but also for cricketers.
Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara has been nominated for the presidency next year by the present chairman of the club.
Accordingly, Kumar Sangakkara will be the president of the club from October this year to September 2020.
Kumar Sangakkara is the first non-British national to become chairman of Marlborough Cricket Club, which has a history of 232 years.
Kumar Sangakkara won the coveted Memories of the Marley Cricket Club in Colin Kowduri in 2011 and won the membership of Marlborough Cricket Club in 2012.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket today (02) issued a congratulatory message to Kumar Sangakkara.
