Construction on the first space hotel, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2025, is currently in full swing. The hotel, which is shaped like a spinning wheel, was designed by Orbital Assembly Corporation (OAC). The hotel was designed to have a curved shape to give it an artificial gravity similar to the moon.
It is called the Voyager station. After the robot’s experiments on Earth, a robot called STAR will assemble these parts in mid-air, and the two-year-old construction on Earth will be assembled by Star Robot in space in two days. The robot is named STAR after the initials Structure Truss Assembly Robot.
The modules are attached to several rings on the outside of the wheel rim. The module size of one module is about 20 × 12 m. Quite simply, this gigantic hotel complex is intended to provide all the comforts of a luxury cruise ship.
The company plans to hand over several modules of the building to the Space Research Organization (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) for their research.
The Voyager Station Hotel is scheduled to open in 2027. Although the cost of construction has not yet been estimated, the Assembly Corporation has stated that those who spend the night at the Voyager Station Hotel will have to spend more in the beginning but the cost will be reduced later. The hotel is likely to see lower fares as a result of lower re-use of spacecraft such as SpaceX, Starship and Falcon 9 in the future. The construction of the station was estimated to cost $ 8000 per kilogram and was later reduced to $ 2000 per kilogram with SpaceX.
In the future, the Voyager station could be used for scientific research by government agencies and to train astronauts to Mars. The concept was first mooted by von Brown, the inventor of the Saturn rocket. Von Byron, the creator of the Apollo program in the 1950s, came up with the idea of a curved shape for this design as a method of creating artificial gravity.
In 2012, the Gateway Foundation launched a campaign to implement this ambiguous idea.
Started a company. Obital Assemble Corporation took over the role and intends to place the space station in orbit, making Voyager station the largest manned spacecraft ever to be built. John Blinkett, founder of the Gateway Foundation, says it’s difficult to keep people in space for long without gravity. They need gravity to operate in space the way they do on Earth. Therefore, the hotel’s curvilinear shape allows it to control gravity by increasing or decreasing its rotational speed.
