Indian actor Gagan Malik, who played the lead role in the film Sri Siddhartha Gautama, was ordained at a temple in Bangkok on Thursday. Malik was ordained at the Royal Thai Buddhist Temple of Wat Thatthong in Bangkok and will spend the next 15 days as a monk. “The most important moment of life comes tomorrow (Thursday).

He has initiated many positive projects and has launched many other projects and activities with Buddhists in Thailand and around the world in association with the Tri Rattanapum Club. He said in another post last Tuesday that he wanted to study the Dhamma and promote religion in India.
“Time to learn the Dhamma – time to understand the infinite – time to gain knowledge – time to turn the wheel of Dhamma in India,” he wrote. Gagan Malik is one of the most popular actors in Sri Lanka as well as in India.
He also has fans in many Asian countries, including Thailand. Malik’s most famous character is Prince Siddhartha in the 2013 film Sri Siddhartha Gautama, which portrayed the life of the Supreme Buddha.
The film has been dubbed into several languages, including Thai, and won several awards, including Best Actor and Best Picture, at the 2014 United Nations Vesak Buddhist Film Festival in Hanoi.
