A fire on a ferry in southern Bangladesh has killed at least 37 people and injured at least 100 others.
The incident took place near the town of Jalakati in southern Bangladesh.
Foreign media have reported that the fire of the three-deck vessel has occurred in the middle of the river near the town of Jalakathi.
Some of the victims drowned after jumping into the water.
It is believed that the death toll from the disaster is likely to rise as many of the passengers on board suffered severe burns.
It is reported that there were about 500 people in the vessel.
