Damon Galgate, a South African author, has won the International Booker Prize. The Promise, his work, earned the Best Novel Award. He was nominated for the Booker Prize twice before, in 2003 and 2010.
At a recent ceremony, Damon was awarded the Booker Prize, which comes with a cash prize of $50,000.
His tenth novel, ‘The Promise,’ is based on the disintegration of a South African family across four decades, from apartheid to the present.
