The World Twenty20 Cricket Tournament kicks off tomorrow (17th) in the United Arab Emirates.
Oman and Papua New Guinea will play in Group B of the qualifiers starting tomorrow (17th) at 5 p.m. It is scheduled to start at 3.30 p.m.
Group ‘B’ includes Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Oman, while Group ‘A’ includes Ireland, Namibia, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been forced to advance to the qualifying round after failing to earn a place in the top eight in the International Twenty20 rankings as on December 31, 2018. The teams that won a place in the top eight, including the host country, had the opportunity to represent the World Cup in a single goal.
The top two teams in each group will have the opportunity to compete in the Twenty20 World Cup, which starts on the 23rd of this month.
Earlier, the tournament was hosted by India, but the tournament was shifted to the United Arab Emirates due to the impact of the virus on India.
