Health experts in India have identified 240 new strains of the Covid-19 virus.
As a result, the number of infections reported daily in the country is on the rise, said Dr. Randeep Guleria, director of the Indian Institute of Medicine.
He also said that the new variant of the Covid-19 virus identified in the state of Maharashtra could be a dangerous virus with a rapid transmission.
The Director of the Indian Institute of Medicine points out that following proper health guidelines will help reduce the speed of virus transmission.
Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, Indian Institute of Medicine, said that if a person who has been vaccinated against Covid-19 is infected with a new strain of the virus, it will show only mild symptoms and it is essential to get vaccinated to control the epidemic.
