Lewis Hamilton, the current world champion in Formula One racing, has been named the BBC Newsman of the Year. The news service named Lewis Hamilton Player of the Year next year, equaling Michael Schumacher’s record of winning the most Formula One titles this year.
Both currently hold seven Formula One World Championships. Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been named the BBC’s Player of the Year. Holly Doyle, one of the strongest jockeys in the country, finished third.
Boxer Tyson Fury, England’s Stuart Broad and snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan were also on the list. This is the second time that Lewis Hamilton has been named the BBC Player of the Year. He had previously won the award in 2014.
