Angelo Mathews’ Colombo Kings won the first match of the Ceylon Premier League yesterday.
Batting first, Kandy Tuskers scored 219 runs for the loss of only 3 wickets.
Skipper Kusal Janith Perera scored 87 off 52 balls.
Batting first, Colombo Kings also scored 219 runs to end the match with a draw. Dinesh Chandimal scored 80 runs in 46 balls.
Accordingly, a superb innings came into play in which the Kings batted first and scored 16 runs. In response, the Tuskers could only muster 12 points.
Accordingly, the Colombo Kings recorded their first victory and Dinesh Chandimal won the man of the match award.
