Former Sudanese Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi has died of a coronavirus infection.
According to foreign media reports, he died while being treated at a hospital in the United Arab Emirates for about three weeks due to the virus.
Sadiq al-Mahdi, 84, served as Sudanese prime minister from 1986 to 1989.
Twenty-one family members and relatives of the former prime minister have also been infected with the corona virus.
Nearly 17,000 cases of corona virus have been reported in Sudan so far.
