BTS became the first Korean pop group to be nominated for a Grammy Award. That’s because their latest song, Dynamite, was nominated for an award for Best Pop Song.
Other nominees for the award include Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
Korean pop commentators point out that this is a glorious occasion that BTS has been missing for a long time. Dynamite, the first song sung by BTS in English, topped the Billboard charts for weeks.
The weekend also saw the Canadian pop singer being accused of misconduct at the Grammy Awards.
Foreign media reported that he was not nominated for any award at this year’s awards ceremony, much to the surprise of all.
In a message to Twitter, the weekend added that the Grammy Awards were responsible for their fans and the music industry.
The Weekend’s album released this year was a huge commercial success and was critically acclaimed.
