The Supreme Court of India today (Dec. 09) handed down the verdict on a sacred place at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The Babri shrine in Ayodhya has been the site of a conflict between Hindus and Muslims for some time.
The sacred site is regarded by the Hindus as the birthplace of Prince Rama and the Muslims claim it as a place of worship for generations.
The verdict in this regard has been confirmed today as the birthplace of Prince Rama.
The same sanction allowed the establishment of a place of worship for the Hindus.
The court also decided to give Muslims 5 acres elsewhere to rebuild the Babri Mosque in Ayodhya.
