Some people are pulling tons of railway cars to set world records. Heavy vehicles like lorries and jeeps are pulling. How do they pull so much weight?
The weight of the car or the train is not particularly important here. The weight is perpendicular to the earth. This means that a ton of railway weight is a ton of weight. Otherwise, the weight will not be felt in parallel with the earth. That means lifting a ton of weight and pulling a ton of weight are two different tasks.
This is easier than lifting a ton of weight across the earth.
But it also takes a certain amount of power to start pulling a train or some other heavy vehicle across the earth. It is a heavy burden for the common man. That means that a man pulling a train is special.
He uses a portion of his force to move the stills of the stationary train, while the other side reduces the friction between the railway and the railway wheels.
Since the railway and the railway wheels are made of metal and are spiraling together, there is little friction.
So, rather than dragging a jeep or a tractor along the highway, it is easier to pull a few train wagons along the railway.
