It is reported that his finger was damaged when he was hacked.
According to the doctors, Tom Lathamam is currently recovering and that he is unlikely to participate in the first ever practice tour before he is fully recovered.
However, New Zealand’s selection committee member Gwen Larson said Saifert and Test wicket taker B. James Watson is also in the squad as additional wicketkeeper but will not leave for New England on Sunday.
